My perfect night: Prospect Park + my people + outd My perfect night: Prospect Park + my people + outdoor dining + dancing + a themed table (obviously).

Once a year, @prospect_park hosts the #ProspectParkSoiree, and Brooklyn devotees haul entire dinner party setups into the park for the most joyful, unforgettable evening imaginable. My crew generously lets me go full creative director, and this year we leaned into my college major: black-and-white darkroom.

The assignment: wear black and white and bring a black-and-white dish if you feel inspired (shoutout to the onigiri!). The table featured my old negatives wired into “flower” arrangements, film canisters as napkin rings, red fairy lights, a giant film-strip runner, and a clothesline strung with vintage photos of New York windows—mixed with surprise shots of every guest’s home...at night.

Michael and I drove to everyone’s houses after dark and photographed whatever we could see through the windows. (Entirely PG, I promise.) Walking through New York at night delivers peeks into the lives stacked above and beside your own—glowing lamps, crown moulding, overflowing bookshelves, and the occasional person taking a quiet beat.

From my time spent flipping through my old prints and negatives to the conversations it sparked that night with strangers, I have a lot more to say about nostalgia, film, and the delicious anticipation of waiting for your photos—but I’ll save that for another post.

Beautiful night. Beautiful friends. Beautiful energy. Feeling very lucky.
I will forever love crafting with kids, watching t I will forever love crafting with kids, watching them light up with joy and surprise.
